description With one of the most picturesque sites along the Rock River Lowden Memorial State Park has a lot to offer. Located on a bluff over looking the Rock River just north of Oregon IL, it is home to the Black Hawk (Eternal Indian)Statue which is the second tallest monolithic statue in the world. The park was establish in 1945 to serves as a memorial to Gov. Frank O. Lowden, who served Illinois during World War I. Lowden State Park has many great activities to offer. Wheather you want to camp, hike fish or hunt, Lowden offers many great outdoor activities for all ages. Lowden State Park has a lot to offer throughout the seasons. From the wild flowers in the spring to the beautiful colors that paint the Rock River valley in the fall. Come to Lowden State Park for your next adventure, you won't be disappointed.
drivingDirection Located 1 mile north of Oregon off of IL rt. 64 on River Road. It is approx. 16 miles east of I-39 on rt. 64 -Going north or south on I-39 take Exit 104 at IL routh 64. Travel west on Rt. 64 approx. 16 miles to Oregon. In Oregon after the first stop light, look for River road on your right. Take River Rd. north 1 mile to the park entrance. From I-88 exit at IL state route 26 at Dixon, travel north 1.5 miles to IL state route 2. Travel north on IL route 2 aprox. 16.5 miles to IL route 64 in the town of Oregon. At IL route 64 turn east or right. Travel aprox. 1/2 mile crossing the river to River Road. At River Road turn left or north and travel aprox. 1 mile to the park entrance.

importantInformation Camping fees are refundable if cancellation notification is received no later than 3 days prior to arrival. A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) from the camping party must register for the party and thereby acknowledge compliance with the rules and regulations of the park for the party. Speical camping rate reductions apply to Illinois resident only The maximum length of camping stay from May 1 through Septempber 30 is 14 days in any 30 day period. Main park hours are from sunrise to sunset. All pets must be on a leash: Pets owners are responsible for the animal's waste and must dispose of it properly. Groups of 25 or more are required to registe in advance with the park office. For specific park information or questions regarding your reservation, please call the Park Office at 815-732-6828 Pets & cooking are not allowed in the cabin.
